Been tying these up with some Baitfish Skulls and E.P. fibers.

They're pretty easy and been tweaking them a bit since the original. I added a little yellow to the tail and near where pec fins should be since the threadfins seem to have that. Need to get some light olive E.P. fibers and some black or dark grey crystal flash and I think I have it. But even as they stand they do make a fair representation.

What do ya'll think.

They look great!
Those skulls are pretty expensive. Is there a good place to buy them?

There is no real good place to get them. J Stockard had them the cheapest so I gave them a whirl.

Good job matching the hatch. First time I fished below Denison Dam for stripers I wasn't having any luck even though I could see fish blowing up on baitfish. I eventually snagged a threadfin shad and then switched over to a deceiver that was nearly a perfect match for it. Started catching fish shortly after that.

That's a good looking deceiver. Man I hope this virus thing gets over soon would love to meet up with some of ya'll swap some flies and get some fishing done. Stripers on the fly is a goal for the summer its been well over twenty years since I have done that.

Would really like to see stripers pounding bait on top. I'd be hard pressed not to throw on a giant pencil popper and hold on.
