Well...
I do not know what it is this year weather...or what (probably user error) but unlike years past... the crappie seem to have eluded me this year on lewisville so far. I am not asking for spots or anything like that. But what tactics have been working for people lately? Got to be something im totally overlooking. How has it been for everyone else?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you

No good advice. Just here to share woes with someone else who's been struggling lol.

I'm new to Lewisville (not the area just the lake). I started crappie fishing last year on Ray Roberts and thought I'd give LL a try since we moved right down the street from it. Haven't had a single bite in the few times I've gone out. Caught a 36" gar on a road runner. That's it.

I did spot a crappie in his tuxedo about an inch below the surface in 17' of water in little elm Creek. I dang near dropped my jig on it's head and it swam off lazily. Something strange going on I think. Not sure if it's been the weird weather this year or what.

Find comfort knowing you're not the only one struggling lol. I've talked to a couple others who have been struggling as well. Hopefully it'll pick up for all of us soon.

For the longest time I have read that weather, rain, etc, and other waters letting water into Lewisville and then out of Lewisville has kept the fish scattered badly.

Glad to hear others are feeling the struggle this year. makes me feel better. Usually I am able to dial them in - but this year seems to have been making me work hard for them.

Thank you

I feel like they always make me work hard lol, but hearing similar reports from others seems to ease the pain. Good luck out there. Look forward to hearing good reports

I was out on Sunday and caught three little dinks in about an hour of hard fishing. All the crappie I am seeing (LiveScope) are scattered from here to there and are being very spooky. I have never seen crappie swim so fast from a jig when you drop it anywhere near them. In fact, the three that I caught were fish that swam into pieces of timber were my jig was already just sitting there.

I looked in the usual spots that the big females would stage in in years past and they are just not there.

My best piece of advice for fishing the Lew is - "Don't"! Go to any other lake and have a chance at catching some crappie. Sure, it will get better at some point but I think it will be a while before that happens.

Joey don't feel bad Sir..Was out there Sunday too and had some of the best images on my Solix...Went back around and threw different colors and scents and of course minnows. No bump, sniff or fart from those dang crappie mad....What I did notice was there were a lot of big gar swimming all around near the timber and the crappie were just hugging the trees....Great advice Ron thumb...May just have to go elsewhere till it gets good again...As you Joey I usually do pretty well on those Lewisville slabs...What ever God blesses me with that day I am Happy and greatful grin grin

I've been struggling on Ray Roberts as well. I can usually find a few there, but it's been slow. All the funky weather I guess.
