So far I love this TM and don't hardly have anything bad to say except for a couple of things.

1. I've nicknamed it R2D2 becuase when I hit timber or rocks it makes all kinds of well... R2D2 noises. It'll kind of freak you out but you get used to it.

2. Tip (Safety Factor) for Lowrance Ghost Owners and soon you be!
If you haven’t already noticed or soon will , the top of the mount once deployed becomes very slick when wet and when adjusting the height of the TM shaft becomes a safety hazard when stepping on the mount to get to and adjust the shaft height. To save yourself a bad day when cold and wet, like almost happened to me, I ordered some skateboard grip tape from amazon and applied for secure footing. Very easy and I now have great footing.
It luckily matched pretty well so you can hardly notice it’s there.

I almost slipped and fell out of the boat one cold rainy day trying to get to the adjustment. I went to actually lower it back down when I went out deeper so it could have been trouble in 50 degree water with full rain gear on.

Great job on the safety tip and out of the box thinking. You could have saved someone's life with them reading this.

If I were to purchase one, I sure wouldn't have thought of this without your advice.

Still on the fence on which one to buy. Not sure I want to stay with Lowrance Electronics.

Great Idea, mine was a little slippery with wet flip flops ! Love it so far, very easy on batteries also. The anchor mode holds you on the spot, we were in some 15-20 mph winds last night on Jville and its was solid.

You will love it!

Make sure to put a little lock tight on the two alan head screws the connect the shaft/motor to the base mount. They worked loose a couple time and luckily I caught it before the worked out completely.

Good to know about the bolts holding motor on. I noted there was none but some
Of the others had it in it. Weird I guess. I’ll take one out at a time and apply some.

is there a trick to updating the software? I have a 9ti2 and the software update for the GHOST shows, but will not upload. I'll probably end up calling tech support on Tuesday this week. my ti2 will now control the GHOST and it's pretty darn neat! and I no longer have to worry about a text from work, cause they show up on my graph. makes it easy to ignore the unimportant stuff.

If your getting the r2d2 effect, it's due to outdated software. I called lowrance and they sent me the information to update the software. Just got back from trying since I updated. The r2d2 sounds and the auto shut off that happens off you get it to shallow both went away. Less than a 5 min update. Hope this helps!

Well this is interesting. Did you have to download through your graph or can you download through a phone w/Bluetooth?

You have to download the lowrance app and then you use your phone and bluetooth.

Thanks for the update. Just installed mine this weekend and did notice the R2D2 effect. I'll update the software as I thought it was from compass placement which brings up a question - Where have you mounted your compass? I noticed on a Lowrance YouTube video that they had it pretty close to the trolling motor on the front bow of the boat but the installation instructions say it needs to be 2" away.
