4pm and no pic yet.....starting to think this might be an April Fool's joke.

Too bad, it's been 10yrs since Choke was the headliner of these kind of things.

Yes sir, Minner for sure. I will also say, that I have seen a ton of them at the filet tables on a bunch of San Antonio Facebook pages. Guess they better eat them while they can, it’ll go back to sucking again with the lake continually dropping.

New rules, not sure what you do if you don’t have a printer??? (Yeah, it’s 2020 and I don’t have a printer!)

Also, a couple of cases of Covid down in Live Oak county now, 8pm curfew and that’s not an April fools prank. Tired of this [censored] and praying that it just magically disappears!

I took a drive down to Calliham yesterday after printing out the pass, and when I got to the gate there were a couple of trucks parked there as I drove up to the gate window and nobody came to the door to check my pass so after a couple of minutes I drove right on in.
The credit card pay box was all taped up and sign said register for day use pass online.
There was about a dozen or so trucks and trailers in the parking lot and several campers in the RV section, but the cabin area was closed off.
Funny, most of the license plates I saw were out of state, wonder why?

I then drove over to South Shore, and about the same number over there.
Saw some guys cleaning an icechest full of catfish over at the cleaning table, but I didn't talk to them.
Gate was wide open over there as well, and nobody there! I did see a state parks vehicle driving in the park, but I didn't see him checking but that doesn't mean he wasn't.
We are living through some strange times!

Just one more cast!

Jimbo, the park staff are checking vehicles for the visibility of the printed pass on the windshield or dash. Please see below news release if you missed when it was published.

AUSTIN— After careful evaluation of the ongoing public health situation, Texas State Parks will be limiting park programming and closing public access to park headquarters, visitor centers and park stores starting at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 19.

All good eating but the Crappie are a step above, I’d keep those Crappie fillets separate from the rest!

That's my dad and nephew.

I THINK they keep each species separate. We always did when I was a kid.

Kind of bland but not fishy at all, they aren’t bad, but plenty of other fish I’d rather eat.

They are pretty good fresh. I don’t think they freeze that well.

Heavy boned fish, and fillets are fairly thin even on a large fish.
Catch a few it might be worth the trouble.
