Arent times like this a good time to use "savings" Then what? Burn through my savings because the govt won't give me permission to work ? Bernie Sanders has to be pleasuring himself at what we're going through right now. will your company let you work? if not can you not draw unemployment with the extra 600 a week? until about 10 million or more out of work blue collar mofos from all over the country are ready to descend on d.c. take what ya can. that is my attitude now.

The government did not cause the Covid-19 though they were way too slow to respond while in denial. Pay what you can and communicate with those who you can't pay. Be straight up and it will help.
We've always known that one should have some cash set aside for emergencies. It is astounding how many families have less than $400 available for anything not anticipated.

only about 6 weeks away for me. snicker!
I can stay in North Texas and be close to the g-kids with a job, or I could pick up and go live in a cabin in Wisconsin with Pete without one . . . . . Pete: and catch these spotted perch . . . all day long. . . . . He's a crusty old cuss but we get along . . . . . I applied to HomeDepots here in McKinney to load up on some ca$h and I'll go up next July (2021). It's a plan . . . .

I would go now and come back in the winter when Wisconsin's lakes are frozen over.

We've had 3 years of a record economy. Hopefully most folks used that as an opportunity to build up a sizable emergency fund. Sadly I suspect our country is full of mostly grasshoppers.

Am I supposed to deplete my savings to pay bills because the govt shut everything down ?
I just don't understand whats expected and what the end game would b e. The govt has not shut everything down. So I ignored your question.

While we have had a record economy, unfortunately we've also had a significant segment that hasn't been a participant. I really feel for the single parent who works in the food industry and earns minimum wage are a little more who lives paycheck to paycheck for food and rent.

A lot of good people out there with lower paying jobs that managed to save a little willl run through their reserves quickly. I feel for them. Probably more out there in that category than any other.

Ours was the land of milk and honey, and when this is over people are going to live completely differently, similar to those who lived through the great depression.
Just one more cast!

If you're that worried about it, go get a temporary job until this blows over. All kinds of places trying to boost their workforce.

Probably more out there in that category than any other. apparently they can draw unemployment without being terminated then the feds are adding 600 a week on top of what the state gives you. why work any more?
