T.O.O. has put together a number of fundraisers for the last few years. For 2020 we have the following fundraiser offshore charter w/ the TFF people in mind if they'd want to join up & do some offshore fishing. Couple of points before the details: all money collected by T.O.O. goes to the charter cost & the fundraising organization. ZERO money goes to T.O.O. (or TOO) MOF, T.O.O. has bought 2 spots on this charter. The organization benefiting this fund raiser is the RRHS BAPS in San Antonio. The BAPS does multiple events and activities to raise money to help the less fortunate band members of RRHS to go on to college as well as fund students to be able to participate in the yearly band activities & events. Anyone wanting to know more about this organization, feel free to contact via email or number below Charter details: When: Saturday August 8th, 2020, 12 hour charter 6am -6pmWhere: DeepSea Headquarters, Port Aransas, TexasBoat: MV New PelicanCost: $200 per person at 20 fishermen ( Price will be higher if less than 20 join the charter) $15 of that cost goes to the BAPS as fundraiser.Min & Max fishermen/women: 20 minimum, maximum 30Targeted species: Tuna,( if boats are within range), King Mackerel, snapper, Amberjack, Grouper, Dorado Wahoo, Ling, etc Deposit: $100 due April 30th, 2020. Final Balance due Friday July 17th, 2020. Final payment will be determined based on total number of fishermen on trip on July 17th
Notes: Charter cost per person is $185 per person @ 20 people. Fundraiser portion is $15 Crew work for tips and will work hard for everyone. Consider a $20+ tip if feel they worked hard for the group. All money above the direct charter cost & tip will be sent to BAPS
Expect to spend $225-230 per person total @ 20 fisher people, charter cost, fundraiser percent, and tip to crew. Most info is included above, but a few more details and info: This charter will go. As of April 2nd, we have 11 spots filled we know it will fill w 20 at least, personally would like 25 fishermen..That is a bit more crowded than ideal for tuna fishing, but easy enough to manage when everyone works together. Young'ens are welcome, parents need to keep tabs on them. Only way the charter gets cancelled is weather, Covid19 issues, or DSH not being able to run the boat. Target fishing if things are favorable is shrimpboats and tuna, Ling, Dorado, etc. Those that fished for tuna behind shrimpers know what this about, those that don't know & want to hopefully see what it is about, sign up. Nothing more fun fishing than tuna fishing. If shrimpers aren't in position, we'll probably kingfish, then anchor up for bottom fish for Ver snapper, etc, & AJ's, grouper, etc. Possible stop at the close in shrimpboats & look for fish there as well. Above 20 fishermen we'll keep the price at $200 per person, more money for the organization. If we end up with less than 20 we'll discuss the options, but cost will go a bit above $200 depending on where we end up. Again, all money goes to DSH, crew, & BAPS, no money to TOO. It's a win, win, win, situation: DSH keeps people employed, people work & make money, students in need get financial help at RRHS band program,TOO gets to fish offshore for tuna, God willing & the creek don't rise!, Those that want to join email me. Those that have questions, email or call me at the contacts below. Fishing offshore and helping out those students that need assistance, good deal for everyone. Couple of last things, if the charter gets cancelled for any reason, all money will be refunded once DSH refunds the money to us. Second, if you sign up & pay but have to cancel you lose your deposit unless replacement is found. We'll do our best to replace but a deposit is a deposit for that reason. Thanks, too@outdoorstexas.com210.215.3877

May be disappointed. We went on 24 hour trip but didnt drop a line for tuna at all. Said we had to go Further out and had to change to 30 hour so we did then due to it being rough we didn’t even go. Not a good trip at all. Will look for different option next time.

Not a good trip at all. Will look for different option next time. It's a little different with the 12 hr trips after the shrimpers head out in mid-July. The boats concentrate on chumming for Blackfins as the shrimpers cull their catch. Lot of fun.

Staying at home has me wanting to go. I'm waiting but may join up. I'm sure you are going to fill it up Willy but if there are a couple spots open in a couple months I might take a couple spots.
Do you know who will be the captain? Also, who is BAPS. Wife and I donated thousands of hours to our kids HS band fundraising efforts. Wife was in charge of staffing a booth at the Rangers stadium for 6 years. I think one year we both worked over 60 games.
Band kids are good kids and very appreciative.
I am wrong but you can not prove it, you just believe it enough from the bottom of your heart.....

Finally got some time to respond BAPS is the Band Alumni Parent society or something, forget what the S means. These parents do the fundraising so the less fortunate students can get into, stay in & participate in all band activities, as well as them giving out a scholarship to one or two students each year. I'll update the charter every so often figure May into June folks will get the itch. Not expecting anyone to sign up from the TFF until things settle down. Just want the word to be out so interested folks can get in on it once we get past "shutdown" stage and folks start booking trips to the coast. Captain Kevin last time communicated with DSH. Nothing planned in Galv. Bigfish, don't see the relevance of your post, TT explained the difference in this type tuna fishing compared to a 24-36 hour trip, and if boats are not in range the charter will do other fishing. That said join the charter, we'll have a great time. I remember you from buying BTS, you're good people, so come fish! Note from 2019, went on one of these in Aug, no shrimpers, boat was fishing for kings and catching lots of really nice ones, 30-40 lbs & higher. 3 blackies were caught, one guess who caught two of them. Charter is gonna catch fish, and if it is tuna that's even better.

@TOO Man I am pretty curious about this, sounds like a lot of fun and a good cause. Would you have any issues if we filmed a YouTube episode on this trip? (Not sure if disclaimers are required for that or not... not sure how comfortable everybody would feel being on camera).

I know I would tune in to see how you all did. Even better if I could make the trip personally.

TOO, Sign one more up. I'll send you a direct email. I was with you once upon a time for Tres Tuna. Have a little less hair now but thankfully the fish don't care about that.
