Has anyone tried the new tour pro yet? I'm trying to decide between that and the ultrex. I've ran a Minn kota for last 10 years. I've seen an ultrex malfunction during a tournament. The mg is supposed to be a true cable system with spot lock.

If you're worried about reliability, I'm not sure how good of an idea it would be to risk it on a brand new product whose release has been pushed back multiple times lol. I'd stick with the motor that's been around for a few years.

I am going with the Tour Pro. It is the only true cable steer motor with an anchor feature.

If one issue is stopping you then you will never buy anything. For every bad review with ultrex there are 10 people with zero issues. I fish anywhere from 2-4 times a week and the ultrex has been flawless.

I’ve had my Ultrex for three years, this month. No! It ain’t perfect, Yes! It will break from time to time. Yes! It’s noisy. Yes! It’s still the best thing I’ve spent money on, with regards to fishing, in years!!! .....and easy and cheap enough to fix.

I hope that the “new” stuff on the market holds up to ABUSE as well as my Ultrex has. Real talk.

Thanks. I'm looking more to the ultrex now. All of the new motors this year have something I like one each. I just wish someone could put it all on one unit.

with as many times as they have put off the sell to public date makes you wonder when they will actually ship one.

Lol, it’s been changed several times now; but I guess they’ll (MG) eventually get a date right.

Cables break too...have had it happen several times in the past. That’s why MG and MK sells replacement cables.
