Specifically tomorrow I am going to Bachman lake and would love any help with LMB on that lake in the evening time (only time I have available to fish). I would love any knowledge you guys have on fishing around the DFW area within an hour drive from Bachman. I am just getting back into LMB fishing and looking for the best areas to fish on the bank!
Caught one at Bachman woohoo check my post further down

Bachman is on for bass right now. They are starting to roam the shores as they look to set up for housekeeping and procreation. Two of the better spots are: the rip rap along shorecrest drive(Love Field side). Soft plastics fished IN the rocks. Brush hogs, lizards, worms. Inline spinners. Fish PARALLEL to the bank. Start practically on the shore and work your way away from the bank. To work out in the more open water, shallow running crankbaits, 1/4 oz will work. Crawfish or shad color should worarea 2: the dam/levee along Denton Drive. Same techniques andlures should work as well. I had a friend this weekend that did well on Jerkbait and stickbaits. Stout 3 lb plus bass fishing Gale force winds. Good luck.

LSU I fished the rip rap right in the flight path of the landing Southwest Airlines runways on Shorecrest(the rocks0. Caught 5 crappie,(2 of them barndoors), and a 3 lb bass. The crappie were about 4 ft from bank. The bass was laying in the rocks no more than 18 inches from the shore and in about a foot of water. Healthy feisty, beautifully colored male, more than likely fanning a nest. They are just now getting in spawn mode where as the male crappie are in full spawn color, jet black.

Bachman is good, but the airplanes drive me nuts after a few trips.
Google map local city parks. I like to use the bicycle map. It circles ponds and makes them easier to find. There are literally hundreds of ponds within an hour drive. A small bait running parallel to the shore is the key.

Well sad to report I caught nothing . It was great just to be out wetting a like though and I look forward to doing it again soon. Question: I used a Texas rigged worm and a crankbait and tried to fish parallel along the rip rap and then by the dam off Denton drive. There is so much brush, limbs, and garbage it seemed very difficult to cast a lure and reel it parallel without getting caught up in that stuff. What’s the trick there? My bait was starting away from shore then coming closer at an angle, so as parallel as possible without getting hung every other cast

I caught one! Spinner bait on the love field side under a tree right off the bank near the flight path! Not much size on the little guy, maybe 1lbs but hey it’s a fish in the city baby!
