It’s not the people fishing, but those people who are boating out to the Island and partying. Last weekend it was full, Today there was a group of 10 that just went out there in a John boat. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. It’s not the fisherman that’s going to get the ramps closed its going to be the party crowds.

Ken, when I use to fish the bayou's and canal's down south, if a boat came by, we always made a cast right behind it. Seems the boat would stir up the shad and the fish would feed on them at that moment. Maybe that is why you caught a better fish at that time. Glad you had a good day.

We were down last weekend and everyone at Jackson Hill was very conscious of one another. Doing a great job of keeping distance and being courteous. All it takes is a couple bad apples to ruin it. Hopefully folks we be responsible, and do that right things.

Bobby I remember many years ago watching a Roland Martin TV episode where he was fishing and a boat slowed to idle by him and he waved them to run by and said the same thing, that it disoriented the bait and sometimes made the fish feed.

Other Counties beyond Angelina surrounding Sam Rayburn, each may have different guidelines or restrictions.
But your advice is good, use common sense and be responsible/respectful.
- Nacogdoches - Far North
- San Augustine - North/North East
- Sabine - East
- Jasper - South

Nacogdoches is shut down same as Angelina.
