I live in Houston downtown and was hoping you guys could help me with some information about lakes to fish for carp and also the best selling stores or places online to buy tackle . I’m from England and not to knowledgeable about Houston spots for carp fishing So any help would be much appreciated

There's a few guys in or near Houston that could get you situated. I'd recommend checking out the American Carp Society (https://americancarpsociety.com/) and the Carp Angler's Group (https://www.carpanglersgroup.com/forum/) and their respective Facebook pages, they're the two big Carp clubs that operate here in America. For tackle I buy most of my equipment from Big Carp Tackle (https://www.bigcarptackle.com/) up in Oklahoma, ships down here to Texas in a day or two.

Do any of you guys get together on the banks for sessions at all and what’s it like in Texas for night fishing on the lakes ?. My friend who is from Texas informed me to be aware for snakes lol

Snakes are definitely something to watch out for. Group sessions are fairly common in the Dallas area.

The Carp Angler's Group has 3 chapters here in Texas as the state is so large. You can find Facebook pages for all 3, they are:
Carp Anglers Group - North Texas
Carp Anglers Group - Central Texas
Carp Anglers Group - South Texas

The North Texas club has an event every month! They'll have a day session one month then a weekend session the next. Big Carp Tackle is also hosting a weekend social event/tournament on the 17th this month up in Kansas which should be interesting (https://www.facebook.com/events/1041048306241460/)
