Well, I guess the lack of open fishing ramps has circulated. I have never seen Sheldon Lake as crowded as it was today. The ramp was full, spilling over onto the shoulders of Pineland road and into National Oilwell Varco's parking lot.

I personally think that secret getaways, like street shortcuts, are a myth.

grew up in humble -- fished that place for many years -- never used to be crowded like it has become in the last 5 years -- not sure what the reason is but there has been a tremendous change ! pretty much have to back in from the road cause the parking lot is so full you cant move around --gonna have to park on the roadside most days

This is the truth. I used to work in Crosby from 06-2010 and would haul boat to work and fish after work. I normally fished Sheldon 3-4 days a week. It was always pretty much empty. Maybe 3 other boats. And those boats were normally always the same people. Even the weekends you might see 5 boats on the lake. Now people are having tournaments and stuff on it and traffic has blown up tenfold.

As I kid, I hated this place due to all the thick alligators, thick hydrilla, trees, and ramp. Yet, it produced huge bass. Over the years, this placed has cleaned up but the ramp and parking make me have flash backs.

Fished it since the 50's. Never had the pressure it gets now and it gets worse every year. I wish they would go back to 10 horse motor limit. That would relieve some of the pressure.
