Someone intentionally tied this braid thru it’s mouth and the fish seemed to be very beat up. The fish was caught around some brush that I’m positive he was tied to I hate seeing a fish mis-treated. Caught today on Ray Hubb. So who’s the cheater

Growing up, occasionally my cousins would use fishing line as a stringer while bank fishing. Typically we only kept catfish/crappie, but there is a chance that is what happened here....Although I'm inclined to think somebody tied it up for later too...

Are there even any tournaments going on now? Not sure. But this fish had been tied up for a long time. It’s fins we’re bloody from the braid. Cheek was indented in. The fish looked terrible.

was the fish still tied to the brush when you hooked her and you had to go cut the line to get her in the boat or was the fish swimming around with a length of braid running through it's mouth......how long was the braid.......
is it possible this fish could have been hooked,broken the line and his poor condition due to fish having to drag a length of line around....
reason I ask is that I've caught two fish over the years,different lakes (champlain &Lanier) both had spoons in their mouth with 20-30 ft of line hung up on something on bottom of the lake....

It seemed weird on the hook set. Like something gave in. And the braid was perfectly inserted thru it’s mouth. In a loop knot. It was done on purpose. Fish wasn’t tiny. Probably 2.5ish

Probably just someone used braid for a stringer and lost it.

That appears someone was trying to pull a Paul Tormanen, look him up he was a notorious cheater that got catching tied up bass in a BASS open in 2005
