What chatterbaits are y’all throwing? I like the jackhammer but close behind it is the Thunder cricket. Looking for another brand that has something similar to the two, I can’t ever find the color I like in stock anywhere.

I mostly use the Chatterbait Chatterbait since it is the only one available in 1/4 oz. Color is no issue, I just change skirt and trailer colors as needed. The combo I am using now is a sexy shad skirt and white swimbait with the back half dyed red.

What color do you need? Zman sells the skirts separately in a 3 pack so could find it there.

A link to the skirts on their website- https://zmanfishing.com/store/categories/siliconeskirts/ezskirt

There are several variants of the zman chatterbait- regular, freedom head, bass pro one(but made by zman), elite, and project z.

Chatterbait, that's $5 at... everywhere. Livin' on that Walmart budget.

I've used several brands of bladed jigs, the one I have the most confidence in is a Jack Hammer followed very close by a custom made bladed jig. To me it's about the instant vibration when retrieving and the skirt flow. For some reason Z-man has figured out which density of skirt works. Maybe I'm over thinking it, maybe it's all made up, but this is my findings.

One thing I do know...paying $15-20 a bait is crazy so I watch for deals before dropping that coin.

Getting hung up on one of those $15-$20 chatterbaits will make your stomach hurt for sure. That’s the one bait if it’s shallow enough, I’ll go in after it.

Sadly, never thought about changing the skirt. I’ve been looking for something similar to the fire craw or a red. Also questioning trying out a new trailer. Maybe the strike king menace?

Trailer for me....when I see shad / bait balls flickering = paddle tail like the Keitech or swim bait like Yamamoto Zako. When they are in the brush / weeds I through a craw based trailer like a grub, rage menace, or zoom speed craw

I can’t say from experience but the guys on Facebook seem to love the AOT chatterbaits, I don’t own any personally, I can’t find them in stock at joes in Lake Dallas. But you can order on line plus they are made locally at AOT World Headquarters In Corinth by Mr. Clean...

The ORIGINAL CHATTERBAIT Elite series has been my goto for quite some time. It has all the same attributes as the jackhammer, at a much lower price point. Handtied skirt, big 5/0 hook, good color selection, and flawless action. I can get the blade to move at any retrieval speed, dead slow, to burning it.

People have been going wild for this fire craw. Tackle Trap posted some last night and they were gone asap. I just couldn't bring myself to buy one for some reason.
