Ok, I looked up the canoe race and it starts in New Braunfels but tracing the river from downtown I saw several levees downstream in the first couple miles.
I spent 4 years going to HS in San Antonio, go MacArthur HS Brahmas, before the riverwalk and never heard about dolphins. Also being several hundred miles upstream didn't sound right either.
I'm speechless. It's part of their native territory back from the days of the Alamo

Dolphins can't swim up the river anywhere near that far. They have a race from San Antonio to the coast in canoes each year and they have to portage several times to get there. After wondering about it a little, I found the same pics without the big fishes in it.
I could not find a way to paste the twitter pics but here is the link to the pics. Same pics, no fish.

saw a mermaid at fork saturday.
then the guy started his boat and took her away. There was a nut case in Florida (I think half the nut cases are from Florida) that claims to have had forced sex with one.

It's amazing that so few have heard of this. Many many years ago there were dolphin festivals held annually by the Mexicans to celebrate the "delfín", their word for dolphin. They would harvest a few for fajitas and such.

Ah I remember about 20 years ago swimming with them. They had these dolphin saddles and you could shove your beer in their blow hole. Great times! I am so glad they are back. I hope this means the swimming pigs and mermaids of San Marcus will return.

They will come to you if you are able to do a proper mariachi band scream. And if they get a little unruly, you can beat them with a plastic toy sword with the flashing lights in it.

This is fascinating news, Peter Caine needs to come down and do a docuseries on the return of these majestic delfins.

I don’t trust any research that Allison1 does. The race starts in San Marcos. In the San Marcos River. It’s called the Texas Water Safari. Also, hundreds of the contestants die each year from dolphin attacks during the race.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

All kidding aside, they are some fine eating.
