I had a thought about that and it was common sense I guess.

When I go to the grocery store and see all the hand foods still on the shelves I will think people are taking it seriously.
Chips, cookies and candy. Bananas have natural protection from your hand but I will have to change the way I eat most fruits.
When I see a story about the hamburgers, french fries and the other commonly eaten foods slowing down it will mean to me that people are really thinking about it.

I have already decided that if I eat pizza soon I will cut it and use a fork.

I suppose you could put everything on a stick. Burger on a stick would be ok. French fries on a stick is going to be tougher. Oreos could be made with a stick.

Or you could just wash your hands before you eat.

I wonder if all the people wearing gloves in the stores are disinfecting the packages of food before they put it away at home. Wonder if they are disinfecting their cars and changing clothes/showering as soon as they get home?

That seems like the sensible thing to do. I'm still careful and dont like eating food with my hands right now but I make sure they are washed and clean if I do

I don’t understand what the op is getting at here.
You have to figure that most if not everyone who is eating the cookies or whatever finger foods live in the same household. So if someone in that household has the virus most likely the others will get it also.

Now eating these finger foods in a break room or other public place is different for sure.

Chop Sticks?

I wear gloves and an R95 mask in the store. At a minimum both serve as a good reminder not to touch my face. The gloves offer some protection while you are using the self checkout and have to touch community items like the credit card reader. On my way out to the truck I throw the gloves in the trash. I put the groceries in the truck. As soon as I get in the truck I hand sanitize. The mask goes in a paper bag. When I get home everything gets put away. Hands get washed again. Clothes go straight into the washing machine and I hop in the shower. Most studies are showing the virus can only survive on packages 1-3 days. Most of the food does not get eaten that quickly. We wash hands before and after food prep and again before eating. No system is perfect and you can make yourself crazy trying to eliminate all risk. The reality is that's impossible. All you can really do is lower your risk. I do think this protocol lowers my risk. It probably adds 20 minutes to my grocery shopping excursions. Given we've cut those way back though I don't view it as a major burden.

What are you trying to accomplish by eating pizza with a fork and knife. If someone hacked on the pizza will it matter how you ingest it? Isn't all this just delaying the inevitable, Unless you live life like bubble boy or are 100% self sufficient. I go shopping for my elderly neighbors and have to hit a couple store to get what they need but after touching everything thats been handled by who knows, isn't it pointless unless I through a decontamination process, wiping everything down?
