I need some help. I have a Garmin Echo Map Ultra 126sv with my Garmin Panoptix Livescope LVS32 transducer.
I can find timber and structure with my forward range at 20 feet and out to 60 feet and further but when I approach this timber around 10 feet or less I’m not seeing timber anymore on display. I manually set my depth range and I have TVG set at medium and my Gain is anywhere from 60 to 85. I can see my bait within 10 feet or less but not timber. I have my transducer on my trolling motor shaft and my power source for my trolling motor is separate power from my echomap 126sv display and my sonar module. I believe this could be a settings issue but have tried several things with no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Just a simple check. You’re sure the xducer is pointed correctly? A way to check is the the xducer pointed straight out and idle forward. All the items should be coming to you from right to left. I’ve helped friends set up, and that’s a common problem.

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!

Yes all images come from right to left.

Try restoring defaults. This will bring all settings back to factory spec'. Also, wash the three-element on the transducer with warm soapy water and rinse. The elements will collect dirty water as you see on your boat at times (bathtub ring)

I run mine with the tag off and noise reduction set on medium and gain around 60 most of the time.

I watched a really good Youtube video instruction about operating Livescope and the guy there recommended turning the TVG off and leaving it off in most circumstances. I have not tried it yet but am going to if I ever get to go fishing again.

Also he said set the Noise Reject setting to either Low or Medium (usually Low)and gain usually around 65%. If the gain is turned up really high the images get muddled

He backed up everything he was saying with visual demos on the lake while fishing and it looked like his recommendations were good.

I am having the opposite problem. Everything within 20 feet is clear and then there is like a wall. Everything past 20 foot is fuzz like a TV screen snow. You can make out blobs of fuzz that then clear at 20 feet. Tried every setting with no effect.
