After the warm week all the bass were up super shallow. When that cold front hits or a rain storm comes through what's your approach to get back on the bass? Do they move back to deeper water? Are they still up shallow but the bite is just slow? I can't seem to get back on them. Also, what's your approach in that muddy water?
This is my first year really fishing, and I am still trying to understand these nuances.

I believe that some will move out and some will stay shallow. I've come to prefer fishing deeper water myself.
Yesterday, for example, I found a HUGE group of fish on a mainlake point at the entrance of a spawning cove. Most of them were swollen females, between 3lbs and 5lbs. They were grouped up between 10ft and 16ft. I had many runs of catching multiple fish on back to back casts. It was ridiculous. I caught at least 30 fish on that one point, and the smallest ones were close to 2lbs.
That's why I fish deep first. I probably could've caught that many fish by covering a few hundred yards of shoreline, but it sure is easier to spotlock in one place and just catch them from a huge group.
As far as muddy water goes, I avoid it if at all possible. I always look for clearer water. You can usually find it somewhere.

I find post front spawners stay on the same flats but just re-position back to their safe spots close to their beds. usually just a little ditch or outside/underneath grass close by.

They seemed to have stayed up shallow here on Fork. I sure couldn’t find them yesterday afternoon or this morning. But that’s probably just me.

Lost count but probably caught around 25 on Travis yesterday. Most of them on l ledges just off the bank in 10 - 15 foot of water. All of them except 2 were under 2 pounds. Not sure if this is because the larger females haven't moved up yet or if I'm still too shallow on these clear lakes.
