With the great deal going on, I'm looking for a new 10xd rod. I currently use a quantum kvd tour cranking rod, but the butt is too short. Does dobyns make a good model for big crainbaits?? Also looking for a spinning dropshot rod too if you have an opinion on that too.

806cb for 10xd, and depending on length anything in a 2 weight should work fine for spinning.

I just got an 805 CBRM for 6XD and I think the butt is a little too short. I had a 764 a few years back and I had the same complaint with that one.

Honestly the 806swimbait rod works great for 10xds for me (as well as umbrella rigs and swimbaits) if you’re looking for versatility.

I have the 806 CB rod and it works great as well. Haven't thought about the swimbait rod, but it might be just as good. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

The 806 CB (http://dobynsrods.com/rod/806cb/) works awesome for 10XD and simular large size crankbaits. I also use it for lighter A-Rigs. Depending on how much you want to spend there are several great choices for a drop-shot rod staring with the Sierra Series SA 703SF (http://dobynsrods.com/rod/sa-703sf/), the DC 703SF (http://dobynsrods.com/rod/703sf/), the DX 703 SF (http://dobynsrods.com/rod/dx-703sf/) and the ultimate rod on my wish list, the DRX 723SF (http://dobynsrods.com/rod/drx-723sf/). I have not fished with any of the XTASY rods yet but by all reports, they are scary sensitive! For me a 3 power rod is about as light as I want to Bass fish with. Anything lighter feels too whippy to me. Although a lot of people that are way better at drop-shotting than me disagree.

Gary Dobyns recommends the Champion 794 SB for the SK 10XD.

The deal has ended. Dobyns refused the request to extend the 40% off sale. Sportsman's Outfitters says they have another one in the works sometime in the future.
