I am looking to purchase one of these reels and I would like to hear opinions from guys who have owned or used both of these reels and which one they prefer between the two. Thanks

Update: I now own both of these reels. First impressions indicate the Shimano to be the smoother, more well built reel. The Lew's is a little lighter. Once I get a chance to fish with both of them I will have another update.

Any update. Interested in these new DC model reels. Does the DC mechanism really work?

Yes, the DC mechanism really works. I really like Shimano.
