I just had to share this and get y'alls take on it. Long article talking about how we're never going back to normal.

Quote
To stop coronavirus we will need to radically change almost everything we do: how we work, exercise, socialize, shop, manage our health, educate our kids, take care of family members.

We all want things to go back to normal quickly. But what most of us have probably not yet realized—yet will soon—is that things won’t go back to normal after a few weeks, or even a few months. Some things never will.

I believe the comments are spot on. Life as we knew it will never be the same.

That said, I pray people will use this as a learning experience and will be prepared for the next crisis.

Isolationism and Nationalism - those countries with the resources and infrastructure will fare better. But in the end it is up to God.

Heres my worst fear.
What if this goes away like the flu.
Then comes back again next winter like the flu.

My money is on it behaving like the Spanish flu did and returning in waves for a few years until everyone has been infected and is immune.

Upper respiratory Coronaviruses peak January to end of March, then level off, then start rising again end of September.

Yes, the initial projections support an 80-90% virus contact rate for the globe by the end of the year

Hopefully by then they will have an effective vaccine.

Not very pretty but their models are probably more accurate than not. Need an effective vaccine, tested and proven, quickly. Fund the scientist and get the politicians out of it.

It's been 16 years since the first SARS epidemic and there still isn't a vaccine for that.

Let's hope not. The first wave of the Spanish flu was not that terrible. The second wave that hit in the autumn of 1918 had mutated and was much more lethal.

The world had a horrible experience with the AIDS epidemic that is now under much better control. The problem was confounded by many who believed that those who had it, deserved it. At least we are not faced with that, but their was much misinformation about AIDS that also complicated finding a solution. Fortunately we are now much more sophisticated with genetic engineering which may be how we ultimately solve the problem.

Based on the best guesses available today, this will be one of those which will be cyclical so it will likely slack off as we get into Summer and come back in the Fall. We need the vaccine quickly.

As the article stated the poor (making below $50,000 or 6 people living in a house) will suffer the most.

Most don't have insurance and a stay in ICU is going to cost some big bucks even with insurance, once deductibles and co-payments are added in.

So while death is a concern, bankruptcy is a real possibility when dealing with this virus.

Expect Dallas to be at/beyond ICU capacity in 2 weeks.
