Celebrating the small joys in life and the decline of my 50 plus day cough, I captured this image of a Snowy Egret in flight over my backyard roost today in harsh midday sun. Shooting white birds is always challenging and requires a solid understanding of exposure. They reflect so much light feather details are lost if highlights are blown out. On a positive note for bird in flight photographers, a little cough seems to mean take wing in bird speak... All joking aside, prayers for all.

Godspeed~

Blue Moon

Very nice photo . Thank you .
I can't believe how awesome digital camera's are today . I remember the terrible pixilated pics from the early 90's and could nor understand why anyone would want one . My dad had one that used the 3-1/2 inch floppy disk .

Thanks! Very much appreciate the kind words. Backyard bird watching with the spring migration upon us is one thing we can do to pass the time...

Thanks. There's a pic of my basic wildlife rig in my signature. I shot that with a Canon dSLR pro body and Canon 500L f/4 + Canon 1.4x extender. For support I use a Really Right Stuff tripod and Wimberley Gimbal.
