Who knows about all of them. I did see Manny's guide service with some customers but that is all I could confirm.

WHAT! Are you saying, it’s not “on fire” like the goobers keep saying on all the threads. It’s a “spot lake” right now, you find the right spot and you’ll catch plenty; but you can fish all day and not find that spot. There is one productive area that is consistent and that’s where all the bass boats will be.

I will say that a few weeks back, a couple Cajuns that I saw at the cleaning table had no problem catching multiple limits every day and keeping them to eat. Power of the internet, right there...

I read this and I laughed out loud!
I ran into a couple of Cajuns at the airport boat launch that were hanging around when I was getting ready to pull my boat out.
They asked me about what luck I had and what I was using, and talking with that thick Cajun Troy Landry accent, they told me they were from one of those swamp people towns which I can't remember.
Anyway, in a joking way I said, "why are you guys interested in fishing for these scrawny white bass when ya'll come from the fishing capitol of the world?"
They said they were working for some oil company and that was why they were down here, and also that they like fish!
I figured while they were still smiling I had better shut up and go about my business or risk getting my old butt kicked!
I wonder if it wasn't the same two guys? roflmao

Nah Jimbo, this was 2 guys with their 2 wives or girlfriends. I brought up the Cajun thing, because of a thread in the bass fishing section a few weeks ago. A couple of “Cajuns” here were mad that guys were saying that they (the Cajuns) came over and kept all the bass that they caught.

So when this fella proudly told me that, “they have caught and kept multiple limits of black bass everyday”. I just had to ask the fella where he was from and sure enough....Louisiana roflmao

Now I know that these guys & gals have the right to keep 1 limit per person per day, but to drive that far, while passing up much better lakes is just insane to me.

I'm sure there are plenty of displaced oil field workers and snowbirds taking up residence, and they couldn't care less about our conservation efforts and as you say they have a right by law.
As long as they are here and the lake is in their neighborhood they will take advantage of it.
He could have been just pulling your chain to see if he would get a reaction about the daily limits.

Choke was really slow yesterday, at least for us. It was a little windy at times We managed maybe 1/2 dozen bass, and most of those were small. I did catch a big drum on a Yum Dinger

That is a nice gaspergou. I bass fished a little yesterday and for a few hours today, apparently I am completely lost on how to catch bass in the spring time now a days. I finally got sick of it and went out deep to crappie fish and ended up catching more bass, than I did while I was bass fishing. bang

There were guys all around me catching bass, but I sure didn’t have what it took.

Fished Choke Canyon Sunday thru Tuesday. Stayed in a cabin at the park. Found out today that the park stopped taking new reservations on Monday 3/23/20. Just made it under the wire. Fishing was OK, at least for what I'm used to. Sunday I fished with a friend and we got 30 black bass with the largest right under 4 lbs. We fished shallow grass with beds using weightless Big Bite trick stick in Spinach. Next two days I fished by myself. Monday I got 18 fishing the shallow grass in the morning and then the grass edge in about 10 FOW using T-rigged brush hog in watermelon-red. Largest was 4lb 2oz. Tuesday I got 14, again fishing the grass edge with T-rig and chatter bait. Talked to a guy also fishing the grass edge and he was doing OK using a swim jig.

What a beautiful home Jehovah has given us to enjoy. Had to remind myself to just stop and take a moment to enjoy his wonderful creation and to be thankful for all that we receive from him every day.

Richard

I’m sure you guys know, but....you have to go online to pay now or drive all the way to Calliham unit to pay by credit card. If you have a TPWD annual state pass, you call the Calliham office, give them your pass number & yada yada yada. They then give you a confirmation number to keep with you.

I've been going online to get a day pass. Print it, put it on your dashboard, drivers side, and you're good to go.
