Now that most of the MAJOR TACKLE stores (Local Areas/State Wide) are closed due to the Corona Virus outbreak, where are you getting your tackle at? hmmm

Don't overlook Amazon. Even in normal times I get most of my supplies delivered. Although slightly more expensive the delivery feature saves me a lot of problems, and they often have things the stores do not.

Plus #1.

Side Note: Lot's of GREAT on line sales going on NOW! thumb As for me I am OK. Going to weight out the Corona situation before spending money on fishing tackle.

In reality...I probably have enough tackle to last me 10 years...but do need to replenish the Gulp Alives, drop shot weights & hooks every other month. I usually order the Gulp Alive minnows from Amazon & get the spinshot hooks & tungsten weights from Bass Pro. If I need to replace line, I usually get it at Dicks, Academy, or Walmart...Of course when I am in these places, it seems I always buy more than just what I came for !

I get the majority of my tackle from Amazon mainly because of free shipping. I can't drive to anywhere for that price. I do get some things, like line from Walmart. But as Vogey said, I have such a stock now I could probably go a couple of years without buying anything.

How could Tackle Warehouse not be declared an essential business?

There is no such thing as free shipping. They just incorporate it into the cost of the products or divide over the cost of their average sale. Sad that people actually think they're getting free shipping when they're still paying for it unknowingly.

I agree with gar1970, I make my own stuff. As far as hooks go, I buy from Jann's Netcraft.

I find that free shipping + tax is still cheaper than what is sold locally. I don't buy from on-line sources when even though product price is less, a high added shipping cost isn't worth it. Local stores don't have the variety nor keep items stocked that sell out. Too many have contracts with suppliers that suggest what should be stocked which fall short when it comes to what many anglers want or need. When fall comes, hunting season takes priority and fishing related restocking waits until the following spring.

For me online is the only way to go.

Amazon. I am also starting to tie my own flies. I also love shipping/visiting the Bass Pro's, Academy, and Dicks. Hope they can all make a comeback after all this is over! noidea
