Which transducer? Where is it being mounted? What do you mean by "give"? Every one I've ever mounted has been solidly attached. Any wiggle in a mounting connection typically means it WILL wiggle, and eventually wallow out the mounting holes, or cause mounting hardware to loosen.

A Humminbird XHS transducer has some "play" in the transom mount. That is part of the impact break-away feature. No issues with its function. No screws can tighten it.
