Wanted to head to the Nolan tomorrow to try and catch some sandies but it's running at about 240 cfs. Does someone with more experience know if this will be unfishable? Looks like it usually runs at about 55.
If the Nolan isn't an option i'd love a suggestion for somewhere within an hour of FTW to take the kayak.

Water is high and you can’t cross the river. They’re catching some but not much. I tried to wade across but the water is too hogh to get to the spots I wanted to fish.

Ok thanks for the info. I might try to drive down to Nolan River Park and paddle up a ways.

Was at whitney today, on the way home down fm933, where it crosses creek from nolan 20 vehicles parked and folks walking in. My guess fish are biting. We caught 14 stripers on whitney trolling with umbrella rigs. No live bait.

You can't get to Nolan River Park, I was headed there on Tuesday and came within a quarter mile when I had to turn around because the road went underwater from there. I started at 933 and got frustrated when the guys next to me were catching them left and right on the spot I moved away from to give a man and his son more space. That's when I headed for NRP and found out it was flooded.

Oh wow, I'm glad I checked this before I loaded up the yak. Thanks!

Just walked the river today and fished up a ways. Still pretty high and muddy but it's clearing up. Fish were biting pretty consistently but most all I caught were dinks (7-9"). Probably caught 50 of those to get 8 on the stringer. Pretty much anything white that I threw was getting hits.
From what I gathered from yakkers/boaters the bigger fish are further up river. Didn't see any body with a full stringer. Most everyone was cleared out by 10am because it didn't seem like the bite was too good. I caught most all of mine after that....so don't give up if it's not on fire at the moment.
