I am surprised no one has posted the 9.15 caught yesterday.

Someone catches a 8-9 almost yearly. It just never gets talked about. Houston is the red headed step child of an illegitimate relationship of the bass fishing world.

But in all reality I haven't even heard anything about it. Any details?

Its on L Houston fishing page, weighed at Bjs and released. Biggest one I have ever seen out of there, seen a few close to 8 but not eclipsing it.

Way back in the 1800's, when I was a kid, there used to be a weekly TV fishing show (somewhere on the UHF dial..........see, told ya) and every few weeks these guys wood do a whole fishing show on Lake Houston. I've never done that well out there, myself.

That is the biggest I've seen since the 10 was caught. But I have seen a few 8s. One being lipped and weighed by me. I just wasnt lucky enough to catch it haha. That is a fish of a lifetime especially on houston. Very happy for that boy.

Kind of where my head was- wondering if they stocked the same fish in both. '13-'17 they were both stocked with Florida fingerlings.....but can a fish in Lake Houston get to that weight in 7 years? More likely came down stream from Conroe with Harvey. No matter where or how- great fish.

Wow; way back in the 1800's, huh?!?! What did you fish with? A tree branch? I would have loved to have seen that TV.

Hard to believe but the Lake Houston largemouth record is #15.20!
