Monticello that is. Been bed fishing it for over 30 years. This was always the best time to fish it . All the winter crowd was gone and the fish were spawning. I was thinking this all day today while I was fishing Sandlin. And Sandlin had more boats on it today than the 4th of July.

Losing that lake to closure is a tough deal.

At 61 kayaking isn't a option. Bet they are catching lots of fish.

How are people allowed to kayak fish there? I thought it was private property? Miss that lake!

Man I bet you could catch a good bag out there. Can you put in a small flat-bottom with trolling motor?

If Its off limits the what hell? Why are yakers allowed?

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

Its not off limits, they just closed the park that had the only ramp. So only option is to use the public bridge to fish or to possibly launch your kayak.

man, we used to have the most epic new years eve camp all weekend parties out there. on a serious note, I remember many an ambulance at the bridge from bank anglers slipping and hitting their heads. its slick so be careful trying to launch there.
