Fished Amistad this past Friday and Saturday. Was some of the best fishing I've seen there in years. Guess next time I visit the In-laws in Del Rio I wont have to drag the boat along.

It is just 10 days but still a dumb idea. Local people fishing the lake are not going to catch or spread the virus out fishing. I could see the argument for blocking people from out of the area from fishing the lake. They won't spread it at the lake but they could spread it at hotels, restaurants and stores. Hopefully the hysteria dies down in a couple weeks.

I hope it’s only closed 10 days. The Mexican side of Amistad closed a week ago.

How are the Mexicans enforcing the lake closure on their side?

There is only one way in and it’s a road up the back of the dam. There is a gate at the bottom. They locked it. Also the army has a depot across the road.

Wait, you meant on the water haha... you can cross on the lake if you can get on the lake but if the park is closed you probably can’t launch. The locked the gates last time it closed.

10 years ago Mexico had a woman game warden on Amistad. She stopped me a couple times. She’s been long gone and no one since. I’m told the office in Acuña that handles the lake was shut down about the same time they changed the way to purchase Mx fishing licenses. New President etc made changes.
