When you are skipping docks and cover along the banks, what is your favorite go to bait. Do you skip a creature bait with or without jig? What do you find the easiest to skip? I don't have much experience at skipping but school is about to start. Thank you folks!!

Wacky senko or any flat type plastic is all pretty easy. Just like anything you have to practice alot to figure it out.

1/2 oz jig with a craw trailer but to start out use a senko wacky rigged

jig, senko, fluke, wacky worm, frog etc. weightless plastics are easy with spinning gear. a jig will take a little practice but is not that hard with heavy gear. don't try to power it, use momentum and keep as low and parallel with the water line as possible.

As everyone said. Practice is everything. I love skipping a jig, but it took a while to get it down. senko is a great starter. The right rod helps. Which boat deck height and the height of the fisherman changes that. A 6’6” and a 7’ is normally where I stay, I’m 6’ my deck height is pretty low. I like a soft tip rod too. Not limber but not stiff. A rod that loads with your bait weight and you can control. I use bait casting reels.

Tube jig with 1/8 ounce jig head inside. 6' spinning rod with 10 pound braid. Easiest skipping lure I have used.

Easiest for me is a fluke..... what I like to do the most skipping with is a 1/4oz pegged creature or beaver on 12lb fluro....can sneak it way back underneath some tight places

I skip a 3/8 oz. Jig most the time. Skip it on a 7'3" heavy action rod fast tip with 25lb flouro.

A 7'3" heavy fast is what I will be using. I've got a new Chronarch coming in the mail today and I'm like a kid in a candy store.

With all this time off work I'm going to spend a lot of my time in the backyard, learning to skip lures into the pool. Then I'll try to make the next step into doing it from my boat. Probably going to start with a spinning setup as well. I spend all my time digging out backlashes using a baitcaster from the boat, so I finally just quite trying.

Now to figure out how to build a decent casting deck for the pool.

Learn to skip a 5-7" swimbait....you will be rewarded several times over.

Chatterbait is my go to skipping bait
