Does this order mean that we can’t launch and fish for food? Some whites or cats in the freezer would help some families that are facing thin store shelves. This order seems somewhat vague. Law enforcement clarification would help. A lot of you guys fish also.

You might be able to get out of a ticket with that line of thinking as they send you home if caught. After the clarification at the conference last night it may be hard to make to the lake pulling a boat without someone along the way callling in on you.

To me it should be criminal to outlaw fishing at a time like this. There is no safer place than to be out on the lake. Keep social distance at the ramp and it should be 100% fine. Mental health is just as important as physical health.

This EXACT topic has been brought up by judges, LEO's and local DA's - I promise.
If you get a ticket, at some point you will have the choice to pay it or have a trial by jury... Choose trial by jury.

Shelter in Place is just in Dallas County (expanding I know), but once you get out of county you should be worry free as clearly you plan to social distance yourself

Harris county just did it, but you're allowed to go outside and social distance yourself. Parks and other outside activities are open. So in other words you can fish all you want without concern's of getting a ticket.

I plan to fish and if I get a ticket ( who will enforce this and what will charge be) trial by jury plain and simple.

This insanity has to stop. It's so easy to enjoy the outdoors without exposing a single person. I will not be told to stay at home. I will put no person at risk by any action I take. Most of these orders are written purposefully vague. In my opinion they are more about avoiding lawsuits down the road than anything else. There is nothing worse on the mind and body than sitting around indoors all day for weeks. Sadly that is what many are doing right now. No telling where the mental state of our country will be in a few weeks when people come out of their caves only to realize they still have a stack of bills, no paycheck, and the virus is still here. Working it's way through our population like it is inevitably going to do anyway.

I guess it depends on how the order in each county is written. Brazos starts tonight and that order defines outdoor activity as an essential activity as long as social distancing is practiced. Later in the travel section, it says travel to and from essential activities is ok. I read some of the other county orders and they are more vague.

What jury would show up during a lock down? You are due a speedy trial...

Also the young people are still going out to be together and are not social distancing. .. In Florida they all went to spring break, That is why the order. Being in the great outdoors is good for you

You can fish. There are going to be some lakes that are completely closed, like Bastrop. Some lakes, like Rayburn, only certain ramps are closing.

Be safe,

Go to your county or city web site to find the actual text of the order. They have to post it.

For example, this is from Waco/McLennan County's order:

f. For the purposes of this Order, "Essential Businesses" means:
i. Healthcare Operations and Essential Infrastructure;
ii. Grocery stores, certified farmers' markets, farm and produce stands, supermarkets, food
banks, convenience stores, and other establishments engaged in the retail sale of canned food,
dry goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, pet supply, fresh meats, fish, and poultry, and any other
household consumer products (such as cleaning and personal care products), liquor stores.
This includes stores that sell groceries and also sell other non-grocery products, and
products necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of
residences;
iii. Food cultivation, including farming, livestock, and fishing;
