Thoughts? Looking for a Crig rod and this 8’ one seems good but not sure if Dobyns is more name than quality or if it’s worth the cost?

It’s a great c-rig rod if you like 8 footers. I don’t. I had it for over a year. Loved everything except the length, just not my preference. What I loved most about the rod is small fish felt good, good fish felt BIG, and BIG fish felt like lake records. Fun rod and worth the money.
If you can't find em wind em.

Thanks for the reply, I typically use between a 7’6 and 7’9 so didn’t know if 8’ was too much.

I have 3 of the Dobyns 784 Extremes and love them as a Carolina rig. I started with a Falcon Low Rider which was very good, then went to a 7ft 6in Kistler Helium and now to the Dobyns 784, It is worth the money. Mine is the older style Dobyns Extreme. When I bought the 784's the 804 wasn't out yet but the 784 fits my deck better than an 8 ft rod so I never switched.

I didn’t notice the length difference when I upgraded to the dobyns 804 from a 7’6”. Really like the quality and balance of the champion. Wife uses this rod a lot so it can’t be too long.

It's probably the best Carolina rig rod I've ever used.
