The only campground we could find for this weekend was near the 103 bridge. I have never been bass fishing passed the 147 bridge. any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know there are a lot of stumps up there

good areas to fish north of 103 and within a mile south of 103. As for the stumps there are areas relatively stump free however they are not marked on maps. consider checking google earth 2011 and looking at the area when the lake was 12 foot (est).

I was up there over the weekend. Pretty dirty water so prepare accordingly.

Water is stained up north but as always fishing is good I'm sure... the google earth look in 2011 is a great start. Lots of under water stumps and sand bars up there. At the current lake level most are hidden. Don't let muddy water stop you! It used to for me,, I look for it now! Lol

You could always put in at Shirley creek and run south or it would be a little bit of a drive to put in at Jackson Hill or run across the bridge and put in at Cassel Boykin. However John Cox did make a cull or 2 fishing just off of the bridge during the FLW earlier this year...

Check out Ralph McAllister park. It's next to the 103 bridge. You won't have to run very far to fish the area.

Be careful running around up there. There is some good fishing, but some dangerous stumps that can tear a boat up.
