I have a new to me ranger. I want to install all new Hummingbird electronics.
What would you you install if budget was not an issue. I have been running onix units for a couple of years, so I am somewhat experienced.
I fish offshore, in a deep water lake. What say you?

Simple: Get the biggest you can afford that will fit your boat. They'll be obsolete at ICAST next year anyway.

I'm an HB guy. Always have been. Probably always will be. Don't mean anything except I like them. Started with flashers in the 70's, Helix's now.

I like the Helix's. Just put 2 - 10 Mega's on my boat. The 12's were just a little too big to fit the way I wanted them. Not sure if the 360 is of value to me. Looks hairy, though. Just don't like the Solix's. Probably because I'm used to the Helix's Too expensive anyway.

Fatherly advise from a very old fisherman: Buy what you need, what works for your style of fishing. Don't try to emulate the pro's just to be cool. You probably don't need to spend $10 - 20K on electronics so you can look like Jacob Wheeler.

What's up with so many using the word "advise" (a verb) when they really need a noun - "advice"? Is this not covered in Texas education?

Neither is 'sell' and 'sale' from what I've seen.

My advice would be to buy as big as you think you want and that will fit where you want them. cheers

If I had a 20-21' rig and had all the money in the world I would probably have what Bruce suggested above. woot

If I were a little more money conscious I would pare it down to the biggest Helix's I could fit. texas flag
