Is Fairfield park or boat ramp open? Are the fish still biting?

Yes it’s open.
Do yourself a HUGE favor though. Go to Texas parks website and PREREGISTER for the park. Not unlike Squaw. Now you need to make a park reservation and pay online. No cash, no hand to hand payments, no entering the park office at all.
The park employees and game wardens are enforcing payment violations.
Thankfully, the lake is still open though and fishing really really well.

The envelopes are gone. The door is taped shut. There is a notice of what to do and a 1sq ft QR code to scan. It takes you to the parks wildlife reservation site. You have to register online. Then make a res, then pay online. All of this after you scan for the guard house WiFi. There is no cell service there. You have to join their WiFi network...then do all this. With 10 trucks/boats cussing about why it takes so long. Lol

Steez, What if you have an annual pass? Do you happen to know how to go about it?
Thanks, Steve

It does ask for an annual pass number, if you have one, during the registration process. Yes, you CAN AND SHOULD do this BEFORE you go. The QR code is simply a link to the website to use for reservations. You then have to figure it out from there. There was actually two QR codes. One guy scanned the smaller one inside the bulletin board case and it was the same link, but routed him to Dinosaur Valley State Park. He simply changed the park to Fairfield in a drag down menu. Same information at that point. I say you should do this before, because it asks you to print out the reservation confirmation and pay receipt and bring it with you. I didn’t have a printer. I made pics of these with my phone to use...and it was Fine though.
