Anyone remember the good ole days when we could fish tournaments? Well it was just last Saturday March 14th that the Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our second members only tournament of 2020 on Lake Palestine. A now illegal gathering of 41 boats came out to fish and from what I hear since I was traveling, the weather wasn't too bad for fishing. The fishing was good for a lot of teams and great for a few. When weigh in was concluded the veteran team of David Choate and Stan Browning had won the day with a monster bag of 26.02 pounds. Big bass of the event went to the team of Warren Whitaker and Jamie Norris with an 8.53 beast. Here are full results and pictures.

Just missing the money were Doug Rener and Andy Medina with five for 15.71. Their big bass was a 6.65

[Linked Image]

It took a stout bag to make a little money. Tommy and Tony Climer had one with five for 18.27

[Linked Image]

Josh Mulkey and Joey Eaves had a great day but unfortunately they lost three fish. They got fifth with an adjusted weight of 18.87

[Linked Image]

Fourth went to Warren Whitaker and Jamie Norris who had a limit for 19 pounds even

[Linked Image]

That included big bass of the tournament, this 8.53 giant

[Linked Image]

Defending AOY's Adam Vesely and Taylor Gauntt finished third with a great bag of 19.84. Their kicker went 7.63

[Linked Image]

Second place went to Thomas Ross and Phillip Carter with a huge bag weighing 19.96. They had a 7.18 toad included

[Linked Image]

How do you get David Choate and Stan Browning to pose for a picture? Easy! They catch a bag weighing 26.02 and win a tough tournament going away. Congratulations guys!

Their bag included an 8.02 bug eyed girl.

I want to thank David Mulkey for running the meeting on Thursday while I was in CA. Well done and he also worked with Lake Palestine Resort to get us room deals and the cafe open for breakfast. Thanks to Vince Burt for getting the ball rolling in the morning and being Club photographer in my stead. Thanks to Shellye Crawford and David Choate for handling weigh in and anyone else who helped. Our next scheduled event is on Lake Cypress Springs but everything is up in the air at this time as you all know. We will keep you posted. Please stay safe, fish when you can and lava sus manos!
