Why are gas stations essential if nobody can go anywhere?

They have beer, things on rollers, chips, soda, tobacco, pizza etc. etc.

Those are critical shops when you think about it.

Yep, shut down the dine in places but QT is packed full of people grabbing egg rolls and hot dogs using the same tongs, slurping down half their drink then using the same cup to refill it contaminating the coke dispenser, this all makes great sense, I went to academy couple days ago for pool skimmer, there were 20 of us crammed in the air lock between the 2 doors to wait till we could walk in store so as we wouldn't be crammed together in store roflmao

No. They are talking about sequestering us for 2 weeks at a time. I volunteered immediately. 24/7 pay at 2x OT... one of our plants in Lake Charles has already started.

No one said the virus itself was a hoax. Please don’t turn this into a political thread and do your own research on this topic. Thanks.

Yes sir you are right, nobody said the virus was a hoax, but the reaction to it was likened to a hoax. The risks associated with the virus were initially downplayed.

"The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant."

"One of my people came up to me and said, 'Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.' That did not work out too well." Trump told the crowd. "They could not do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. ... They tried anything. ... And this is their new hoax." Anyone that feels like it can do their own research to verify this.

I'm kinda looking forward to this. We're looking at a 3 week lock-in.

China and liberals are not your friends

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

I'm betting that as soon as the 25% of the population who are now unemployed realize that 35,079 people in a country of 330,000,000 (or .01% of the population) have a virus that will kill 1% of the infected, that guillotine sales are going to go through the roof.

If you understand exponential math, you will understand that the numbers will be going up at a much faster rate each day. For instance, on March 14 there were 414 new cases reported in the US for that day. One week later, on March 21 the number reported for that day were 4,800. The numbers will just continue to explode unless we can stop it, and the best way to do that is to "hunker down" by ourselves.

I'm not sure where you got your numbers, but here is a link to mine. Day by Day Numbers USA

I have asked this question before but I don't think anyone has answered yet: How many would need to die, or would need to potentially die, in order for you to support extreme measures?

Remember too, the extreme social distancing is only for the period of time necessary for the virus to recede for lack of reaching new victims to infect. The more successful our temporary isolation, the quicker the virus finds itself with no new victim within reach. This is important to realize: The LONGER people ignore the need to isolate, the larger the infected pool gets - THEN, the longer we must remain isolated for it to wither away. This is because no isolation scheme is perfect; there will be a few who violate, and some transmissions that occur, so more hot-spots will inevitably flare up. The longer people wait before they do the right thing, the longer they are going to have to do it.
