Hello all, been a long time since I've posted and had to re-register. The family and I took a chance with the weather and made a trip to the Colorado River and were not disappointed. All fish were caught with good ol' night crawlers (There was not even a nibble on live shad, cut bait, punch bait) I wasn't expecting so much success with the crawlers so I had to make an emergency run to the bait shop. The channel cats were looking real scrawny and the flat head was too pretty and a rare sight so all fish were successfuly CPR and the family and I had a blast!

Nice fish! That Flathead is super cool looking. Great job releasing 'em all thumb

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

Thanks for the replies everyone. That was my son's first flathead and the first one we have pulled out of the water in the 12 years we have been in Texas. Growing up fishing in Michigan and Iowa it was pretty easy getting on the flatheads (especially on the Mississippi) and I've never seen camouflage like this fish had. Up north they were the typical yellow cat.
