 Whitney corp ramps closure starting Monday

Guide there relayed this on Texas fishing and Outdoors radio show this morning, not sure if its they will do all Fort Worth district lakes or just doing Whitney because of lake rise?

whitney has came up a lot but last year it came up 22ft and was not closed but you could not get on the lake. It does not show whitney ramps closed for any reason. https://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/lake/lakefacilities.htm

They closed the ramps last year when it got close to 10' high. Harbor Master was still allowing folks to launch at their own risk

They closed the ramps last year when it got close to 10' high. Harbor Master was still allowing folks to launch at their own risk Media launched off of the side of the road at Uncle Gus. The top of Picinic tables were the pattern

Sadly it is true. Lake is not closed only USACE parks and office. Talked to Thursday on the phone.

I just got back from Whitney and launched from the dam with ease. As of right now there are just normal seasonal park closures. Lakes currently just over 7 ft above normal.pool. there were plenty of boats on the water all day today. Be careful, there is a lot of floating debris all over the lake.

I fished Whitney today as well. Cedar creek boat ramp was gated off but the park was not. The water was on the turn around above the boat ramp. Launched at McCowan. No problem there. Gate guy said they had about another foot and a half before they would close.
Fishing was pretty good once I figured them out. Hope they don’t close all the ramps down tomorrow and I hope they hold all the water.

Launched at the dam today. Fishing was horrible for me. Lake is 5 foot high and rising

I launched at McCown which was fine today. Water temp 65-66 degrees. I did well early on topwater with a frog and a Heddon one-knocker spook mid lake around flooded brush.

Anybody been to Whitney today? Ramps still open? Just got of the phone with the Corp.. Office and they said Lofers bend west and east and McCown Valley will be open. It might change due to flood levels..Only boat ramps are open.

With all that is happening you shouldn't pass along hear say. Check the governing entity webs sites first.
