Added some gimbals to a couple of my planer rods. I use flush mount rod rod holders and outriggers when pulling boards and now my rods will stay locked down. Gonna test em out as soon as I get my helix back from humminbird. Also added a Winn grip to one more rod.

Look good. How do the gimbals attach? Where did you get them

Took the nylon buttcap off with pliers and gorilla glued the new gimbals on. I got the gimbals off mudhole. Took 5 minutes per rod and let em dry overnight. You could use epoxy, silicone, or marine adhesive. I had gorilla glue close so that’s what I used.

That looks really good! I didn’t know you could add a gimbal butt to a rod. I’m going to have to look into that.

Thanks amigos! They worked great today Miles. We fished shallow half the day and pulled boards the other half. Caught 12 up shallow and 12 in 30 ft. All dinks.

The circuit board was fried on my Helix Matt. We fished again today and I had to scan my tail off to find fish but luckily we finally found some. On a good note my son didn’t complain once while dad scanned half the lake.
