I love to watch great fisherman catch fish. The formats may be different, but I feel like I can in the long run I can learn something to help myself. I watch and enjoy them all. I choose no sides That's approach is WAY to level headed and most certainly not allowed on here. You are required to pick sides and hate either BASS or MLF. Please rethink you common sense approach and report back with your decision.

The last derby ended like there championship did . Somebody got lucky at the end and found a wad of fish and walked away with it . I imagine that happens all the time in bass tournaments in general. Someone gets lucky, finds the fish or school of fish they need, and wins. But not all the fish would have counted . It was just luck he came upon the school of fish .

+1 on being able to get a recap video on the ramp interviews. Great broadcast and event.
Prepare for the future-it will be here tomorrow. Personal Best Large Mouth Bass 9 lbs. 12 oz 5/13/19. Herb Stein, who famously reminded us that “if something can’t go on forever, it will stop.”

Not trying to argue here but would you be posting that this was luck if he won a five fish event with that same flurry? And why exactly is it luck when he clearly spoke that his strategy for the day played out, it just happened later in the day? Just curious.

He spent time on the lake before Championship and found another spot just like it he marked and caught fish. I think he mentioned he wanted to hit it earlier in the day and just didn't but was still part of what he planned to fish. It seems that most people who work hard at their craft and are successful seem lucky to some. I'd say hard work, preparation, knowledge and experience he gained over his career probably has more to do with it than luck.

The "turnaround" from the viewer, sponsors and the anglers themselves in the last 90 days has been nothing short of dramatic. The amount of negative posts on social and forum boards is almost non existent and three months ago it was nothing but drama. The numbers from Fork were incredible and the first two events were strong as well. It has really come down to a few things.
1. the two pound minimum change 2. the change of production focus and letting the moments play out and the anglers talk through them instead of bouncing from fish catch to fish catch. 3. Heavy hitters has provided an interesting twist and certainly has put the focus on big fish. This was really smart. 4. this years lake choices and timing have been much better and that's simply from them having a full year to negotiate locations and plan
I'm in no way saying that anglers won't leave but it won't be related to money or sponsorship loss. It will be they simply prefer the five fish format.
Regardless, this is just way more enjoyable that all the battles that were going on at the end of the year. OMG! I think I agree with you. Hey are y'all about to bro hug or something??
See you on the lake and have a great day!

No doubt. He even said,” there’s a big one right by that bridge support”...two casts past that support and it was a 9+ being weighed.

And by that same token Hank Cherry just lucked into his fish for his win at the Central Open Classic thing recently. They both won. Would he have won big 5 stringer too? Add it up slick.

I’m really enjoying the BPT. Not sure I’ll feel the same about the cups.

Agreed. As someone that fishes Athens exclusively; my graphs show nothing but grassy bottoms north of the bridge. No way I’d find a school where he did on side imaging.

Im a fan of fishing and the fishermen. I wants whats best for those guys and in no way wanted to see BPT fail. I do not think it would have survived with 50-1 lb fish winning a significant portion of the contests.
Glad to see the 2 lb minimum.
Still prefer to see someone try and upgrade a 15 lb sack as opposed to being content catching 2 lbers, but it was a big improvement.
I believe the only reason it has the following it does is because of the anglers on the tour. Flip flop the anglers with the current BASS Elites and i bet many follow the big names.
So will be interesting to see who stays when contracts are up.
