Spoke with the County Judge here in Zapata, and the county boat ramp here in town will remain open. Plenty of water.. Ramp is fine.
Spoke with folks at Falcon State Park. The park boat ramps will remain open, but the park office will not be open to the public. Credit and Debit cards for access and launch fees only. No Cash. Drive thru window will be open regular hours..
Concrete ramp back in use at the state park.
We're hot and dry.. Good place to quarantine yourself in your boat..
In case you get stir crazy.. Come see us..

How are the 3 grocery stores in Zapata now that laredo is on lockdown?

I'm too old to fish three days in a row..
Stores are fairly well stocked.. But a lot of people from Laredo came down and did a number on the water, toilet paper, and etc.. But we good and stores open.. And restocking as possible.. Restaurants to go only..
Liquor stores are well stocked.. I called and asked.. Not really sure where they are at..

I will not be coming. The word that I am getting from Homeland Security friends; is that the total U.S. may be under lock down starting on Monday. Everyone one needs to be where you wish to be by Sunday night. This could be from one week to 30 days with no travel from your residence. Just be prepared with everything you need to make it in house for 30 days. Stay safe and God Bless.

Are you able to fish in a boat under lockdown? I'm sure I'll get flamed for it by the "know it alls that never break a law or rule" but if I was down there fishing by myself........they'd literally have to put me in jail and keep me there to keep me off the water. What the heck else are you going to do down there solo?
