Looks like the ramps are still open. If I read it correctly campgrounds and group facilities are the only things closed at this time? I am not sure where I read it but several states have closed all lakes. I would think being in a boat in the middle of the lake would be the safest place to be...

Ok got the scoop, they closed certain areas where we walk in to fish on creeks. So yeah ramps are good to go.

Received word that GBRA lakes and parks are closing Monday the 23rd. Going to put a damper on my fishing for a while. Guess the main reason is that they do not want their employees coming into contact with people who could possible be infected. What really gets me is that I have a yearly pass and never even come close to anyone working the gate. But, I can also understand that there are people who don't have a pass. Therefore, staff would have to come into contact with people to either collect their daily fee or annual pass. Yea, the gate attendant could just stand there and let those with passes go on in and tell those without passes that they are closed. But, that really wouldn't be fair.

Just a tip for everybody with boats. Lakes and ramps can close, so it's a good time to start scouting alternative places/banks to launch from. Preferably scouting physically, but Google Earth can help. There are places on some lakes where this is possible without sinking your trailer or getting stuck. There may be a locked gate or whatever in your way, so plan accordingly via boltcutters or whatever. A sheet or two of thick plywood defeats all the spring loaded spikes.in the exit lanes from parks, as well. Railroad style gates on the entry lanes aren't much of a blockade at all either. This is along the lines of worst case scenarios, but it doesn't hurt to get familiar with your nearby waters if the need arises.

Amon Carter is starting to overflow the banks. The ramp off 1125 was open today but will likely close if we get any more rain.
