Defoe told the boats waiting around him. The funny part is, when he leaves and they start fishing, they will all be crossing each others lines.... roflmao

I have caught them good there a lot of times, but never anything over 5 pounds

That was fun to watch

Well, as we know now, it turned out OK, but I'd agree with you on Fork. One day (forget which one) I went to an area early in the morning and the water temp was right at 60. Came back to the same place just before I called it a day, hours later, and the temp had dropped to 57.7. True, not a huge movement in temp, but it did make for less of a bite. It had me scratching my head at first because while the day had been pretty cloudy all day, there hadn't been any rain that particular day, and not enough from a few days before for it to have been effected by run-off. The only thing that had changed was how much WINDIER it had gotten that day. So, I assume, with the wind blowing pretty hard all day, it was enough to mix in some of the colder, deeper water in with shallower water. At least enough to drop the temps back some.

From everyone I talked to they bit really, really well out here today. I got in later than expected so I did not launch the boat.

Of course.......lol. It happens every year after a big tournament win or a big fish during a tournament, or whatever. Like when Howell won back in 2014. I don't recall ever hearing about Livingston Lures prior to that. Then, the next day, BANG it was all about the Livingston. Couldn't buy one for love nor money. Of course, it WAS rather convenient that it happened on Rapala's "soon-to-be-released color called “Bigg’s Shad'" What a crock, but hey, gotta pimp for your sponsor. Particularly the ones that give you the most cash. Naturally, leaving out the part that DeFoe also caught them on a jerkbait, topwater, and bucktail jig. Even more hilarious was his (again, conveniently) using a "7-6 medium-heavy Bass Pro Shops Crankin’ Stick with a 6.8:1 Johnny Morris Platinum Series reel spooled with 12-pound Bass Pro Shops XPS Fluorocarbon line". Thus, proving yet again, "it ain't the arrow, it's the Indian". We're all guilty of it, though. I always have top of the line equipment and all that money has allowed me to probably catch about "ZERO" extra fish, than I would have, had I used a Zebco 33. I justify it by saying I'm less tired at the end of the day.......lol..........Good thing he caught it on a DT-10. They WERE only about 6-8 bucks. Just imagine how much money you could make if he would have claimed he caught it on an X-200. Of course, over in reality, a $4.99 Mag Wart would have worked just as well.
