Staying on the lake this week back in a cove. Water pretty dirty. Is there crappie to be caught shallow yet? Or really anything to put the wife and kids on from a dock?

It depends on the dock, but some docks are producing good crappie. Catfish have been good on cut bait and worms. Some sunfish are moving shallow. You could even get some largemouth bass, white bass and striper. Granbury is a good lake for carp and buffalo.

Not a marina that I know of but there are several parks that have piers that are made just for fisherman. https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/granbury/access.phtml

Go to the dam there are two nice fishing piers and free camping area. I have had better luck there with the deeper water and less crowded usually.

I forget sometimes which forum I’m posting on. I haven’t caught many crappie from the dam but cats should be tearing it up. Just drove by Benbrook marina and water is way up the creek. Several people fishing from the road.
