Did scouting run yesterday and found fish on three structures - Saint Annes East in 27 fow, Saint Annes West in 19 fow and Long Ridge West in 22 fow. Caught 10 in each spot then moved on. Was lifting Mepps #4 silver up from the bottom about a foot or two and letting it fall back down. Making noise kicking the floor of the boat brought and kept them under me. Water temp is up and ranged from 59.5 to 62.1 degrees F. Checked 3 or 4 other spots and was out from 1 to 3 PM.

Like the post and yes I have heard the thumping thing before. I was taught growing up to stay still and quiet to no announce your position to fish. The only thumping was pawpaw on my ear if I made noise! Lol

Does the thumping work year round? Yes sir it does. Usually best when the fish are deeper than 16 ft.

I agree with jbobo, it works year round. I LOVE my new-to-me boat. It looks and acts brand new, but is actually a 2006 model that was not used much - a great buy!

Was out yesterday from about 3:30 to 6 PM. I looked at Saint Annes Point East and Flagpole Points and nothing. I did find them at Swing-set Hump, where I ran into Steve Strausmeyer (Sp?) and friends visiting from Lake Whitney area. We fished along side and caught fish. I managed 10 whites and a nice yellow bass in 18 to 20 fow. I probably caught 2 dinks for each countable (legal) fish. When they left to head home I left and found fish at 60 Acre Hump farther up the Clear Creek arm. The notable thing there was that fish were in 14 fow - the shallowest I've found them in since December. I caught 32 countable fish in that one spot plus a bunch of dinks. I hope this is a sign some fish are coming back into the lake from spawning up the creeks. I caught all the fish using the cast out and retrieve back to the boat along the bottom verses setting up directly over them. Still using a #4 silver Mepps plain Aglia spinner.

Guess we should have followed you to the next spot. Thank you so much for inviting us over to your spot. We (Me , Rob, Lonnie) slipped in, anchored up and immediately caught fish. We watched Dennis work his magic with the Mepps spinner. Great day to be on CC. I left Garland around 7 and it was raining hard. By the time I got to Corsicana it was just a sprinkle and by the time we got to the lake it stopped.
Thank you Dennis for sharing your expertise and lake.

Great post as always. In the interest of sharing as well, searched multiple spots yesterday and finally found a bunch at St. Anne’s East in 15 to 20 feet of water. Fished from roughly 1 to 3 and caught 68 total fish with 3 legal hybrids and 2 unders. All caught on a #4 Mepps casting out and retrieving as Dennis demonstrates in his videos. All fished released to be caught again.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
