Do you recommend getting the same size sonar for the console as well as the front of the boat? I have a Helix 7 and planning to put another up front. I can either move that one up front and get a bigger for the console, or just get another 7 for up front. Or a 5 for up front. Thoughts?

The bigger the better in both places. If different sizes I like the largest on the console unless strictly crappie fishing...

Depends on your eyesight. A bow unit will be farther from your eyes than a console unit. BIGGER is better up front.

I'm with Wayne on this one. The console unit is a foot or so from your eyes. The one up front is four or five feet away. Also where do you spend most of your time on the front deck or in the driver's seat?

I run 9" console and bow, bow is about right for me but could be a 10 or 12 (too poor for that tho).

get the biggest you can afford for the bow.
