I know he’s a local, and don’t really care for his attitude. Watching him mike long one, then awkwardly hand lining the fish to try and cover it being snagged then removing the hook with his back turned to camera and official. Lots of people called him out on the Facebook post and now MLF has removed the video. Seems a bit fishy. He claimed “I thought it was a gar, I didn’t even see it just pitched to a hole” so what was it? Didn’t see it? Thought it was a gar so decided to go gar fishing? Regardless of intent he saw the fish, threw to it, snagged it, and they caught it all on video lmao

Some people suck at fishing so badly, they actually get mad at the fish...and so the snagging starts.

I wish I had recorded it before MLF deleted it. It was a quality video. Maybe someone screen recorded it before they deleted it

He even said “I thought it was a gar, well I didnt See it just pitched” it was painfully obvious. Don’t think he meant to snag it but definitely broke a rule. Any other angler in any other organization would be DQ’d. Sad thing is it wouldn’t have even changed his situation. Could’ve easily said “damnit I accidentally foul hooked it.” Now he just looks shady as hell

It was shady.....The way he landed the fish.....He was trying to grab the fish while it was underwater. Then you could see him pulling it closer and it was snagged in the side. He then lands it with back to camera and hook out when he holds it up to camera.

The whole process was just odd.....I commented what is he trying to do?

However, I don't recall if he was sight fishing for it. Makes a big difference. And......When he held the fish up the boat official was on the front deck. So he saw where it was unhooked.

His fish landing shadiness though sure makes you think it should not have counted.

I saw it and it did look shady. boat official should of been on top of it. That being said a good man never cheats.

anyone worth their salt as a sight fisherman knows about the ole “hit em in the head” move where you pop your bait hard with the sole intent of whacking the fish upside he head to make it mad. When doing this with a jig I’ve accidentally snagged fish before. I can’t help but think this is what happened, don’t think his intent was to actually snag the fish.... but he dang sure shouldn’t have weighed it. Watching him yesterday was difficult, atleast when Ike loses his mind it’s so over the top it becomes almost comical... Jeff just acted like a spoiled brat not getting his way during the 4 hours I watched.
