Got a bass tracker, replacing 12 year old factory finder with probably a Garmin UHD 93sv at the console.
The fuse box is hard to get to, and I'd rather not mess with it and the factory wiring.
Plan to run new wire from battery to console when I run Transducer. Already have panels removed and easy access to do so. Can't I just buy 14ga marine wire, connect to battery and run it to the power cable included with the garmin? I believe it already has an inline fuse on the hot, so is there any other fuses I'll need to add? Is there a benefit to a switchable breaker at the battery? I used one to install my ultrex.
I appreciate you helping a new guy out.

Use the inline fuse in included, at the battery will be easiest to access.

fuse goes as close to the battery as is practical, leave the one on the power cord and simply add a new one at battery of same amperage fuse.
