Why are people so upset about MLF:BPT? Why so passionate about dislike? It’s more fishing for us, the fans and spectators. I still don’t get what the axe to grind is. Enjoy it. It’s more.

I’m with you, I follow both MLF and BASS. I prefer one over the other but I love to fish so I watch both. I can honestly say that watching both has taught me different things because even though both are tournaments, they are really two different games.
I’ll say this and it might get criticized. I think a lot of guys have let their passion for bass fishing itself get eaten up with concern for tournament/industry issues. The competition between organizations is a good thing for the fan.

I’m with you and agree however it is not your place to “get” people’s opinions. Most don’t “get” your shenanigans and constant pot stirring on a certain football team. I will say that you have been tame With it lately and it has been amazing.

People have been conditioned to be polarizing. To take one side of a debate and defend that one side no matter what. I agree, both options are great, and the ideal format is somewhere in the middle (Texas Fest format)

Agree with Doc. There are some people who are looking for a fight no matter what. Sometimes they don't know where they stand or have a value system as a basis. They simply are pissed at the world. I think both formats contribute to the industry and provide a broader base for fans of the sport.

How anyone cannot appreciate and enjoy what MDJ did yesterday is beyond me. Given a little more time, he boats over 100 pounds yesterday!! That’s mind blowing. Mind.... blown. That derby is a slauwnch-fest!!!

the MLF record far exceeds MDJ's excellent day. But that was when they were counting 1 LB fish. I didn't see the whole thing yesterday, but when I did I saw them catch and throwback several under 2 that were between 1 8 and 1 15.
Frank is comparing apples to oranges which you can't do.
MLF format is not set up for on site fan appreciation. It is set up for TV audiences. It is two different entities. Comparing them is useless, but some will keep on kicking a dead horse anyway.

I enjoy both, glad we have leaders in the industry that give a variety on tournament styles and options.

I don't get the hate by some. I do get that some don't like one or the other. But some here are just over the top. One in particular and I question the sincerity of his hate honestly. To me he sounds more like someone just trying to piss people off and is effective, at least on this forum. Love BASS and FLW and their format. Don't care what anglers are fishing or the fact I don't know a lot of them. Love MLF/BPT and their format. Hold no ill will against their anglers for leaving BASS. That many anglers can't be wrong about the uneasy affiliation they felt with BASS at the time. In the next years there is probably going to be a lot of moving by anglers from one tour to the other and I won't care about that either. It will be a good thing for some of the bigger names to go back to where they started. It will keep interest in all tours stronger I think. All around better for everybody. Then again.

I like the mlf format, being here at fork just makes it that much more interesting. if I hadn't had trolling motor problems I would be out watching from afar and hope to learn something. did the same with the toyota here, met pretty much every angler as a volunteer and then got to watch records be broken. fork will try to break your spirit and if ya don't watch/learn some different tactics mother fork will for sure beat you around the eyebrows. and frank, you need to come fish it more is all.

I like fishing but don't care which format is more popular. Folks can decide for themselves what is important to them.
