Also does it matter on fast meeting dates like a chatter bait?

I use 50lb braid on my flipping/ pitching style fishing. When the water is clear I use 20lb or 25lb fluorocarbon leader using a Alberto knot. I would use just fluorocarbon but it so kinky or coils. If the water is stained I tie straight braid. That’s about the only time I use a leader with braid. Other than that I throw a frog and an A rig on braid with no leader. All other styles are mono or straight fluorocarbon.

I don't use 50 pound braid on anything but If I did I would choose a 15# test leader of whatever line you choose for that unless you are fishing heavy cover, then I would go with 17-20# test. I use 20-30# braid on a spinning reel because of the lack of memory braid has therefore it doesn't curl on the spool like other lines do. I use a 10-12# test leader with it. I use 65# braid for throwing top water frogs and Alabama rigs.
